Secretary Powell presented evidence of Iraq’s failures to comply with several United Nations Security Council resolutions demanding cooperation with weapons inspection. In his presentation he showed satellite images, played audio recordings, and shared intelligence data to show that Iraqi officials were purposely evading their obligations and hiding their weapons of mass destruction. Following his presentation members of the Security Council and the Iraqi ambassador responded to the evidence and stated their positions on the future of policy toward Iraq.
