Mr. Friedman discussed his book Longitudes and Attitudes: Exploring the World After September 11, published by Farrar, Strauss and Giroux. The book is a collection of Mr. Friedman’s New York Times columns and diary entries written since September 11. He talked about the influences on the nineteen hijackers and the United States' response to the attack. He also discussed criticisms of the Bush administration, what to do about Saddam Hussein, and America’s reliance on Middle East oil. After his presentation he responded to audience members' questions. close
