Laura Claridge talked about her biography, Norman Rockwell: A Life, published by Random House. It is the first serious critical biography of the famous painter and illustrator of middle class life in the U.S., and describes his career, his three marriages, and his relationship with his children. Ms. Claridge described the artist as a complicated man who was not well respected by critics. Norman Rockwell produced more than 4,000 paintings and earned millions of dollars. Ms. Claridge explained that his work is now seen in a more positive light by a new generation of critics.
