Ms. Stillman talked about her book, Twentynine Palms: A True Story of Murder, Marines and the Mojave, published by William Morrow. Located in the Mojave desert, Twentynine Palms, California is home to the largest Marine Corps base in the world. The book tells the factual story of two young women murdered by a Marine in 1991 who had recently returned from the Gulf War. Ms. Stillman read excerpts from the book and answered questions from the audience.
