State Opening of Parliament

BBC coverage of the opening of Parliament was shown. Queen Elizabeth rode in an official state carriage to Westminster for the event as Parliament reassembled after the June 7th general elections. After the official procession the Queen read a speech prepared by the government outlining the legislative agenda which included health care reforms, law enforcement issues, and social and defense concerns.

Following the ceremony members were interviewed about the results of the elections and the Queen’s Speech.
