Mr. Henson talked about the connection between his distant relative Josiah Henson and Harriett Beecher Stowe. The Henson Cabin was originally a slave cabin on a plantation. Mrs. Stowe read Josiah Henson’s autobiography and arranged to meet him. She credited Mr. Henson with providing much of the information about slave experiences used in Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
