Ms. Harness talked with students about the process of writing and illustrating a children's book because she is both the writer and illustrator of all her books. She talked about her book, Young Teddy Roosevelt, published by National Geographic Society, and about the early life of Theodore Roosevelt, Jr., from birth until he became the 26th president of the United States. Ms. Harness answered questions from a student audience at the beginning and at the end of the program.
