Mr. Hewitt talked about his book Tell Me a Story: 50 Years and 60 Minutes in Television, published by Public Affairs. In the book, Mr. Hewitt recounts his participation in the early days of television broadcasting at CBS. He was responsible for the first broadcasts of political conventions in 1948; the first Kennedy-Nixon debate in 1960; and created and was executive producer for the program "60 Minutes." He talked about changes in television news since its inception and recent trends including the competition of cable news and the Internet, personal experiences in the industry, and his participation in the program "60 Minutes."
