Officials dedicated President Carter’s boyhood home as a national historical site. They praised President Carter’s public service and said that the site would inspire future generations to follow his role model. President Carter then talked about the home and reflected on his time living in the home. 
The ceremony followed a taped news conference at which President Carter described the reconstruction of the home.
