Vice President Gore addressed the country saying that recounting of the vote in several Florida counties should continue in order to get a fair and accurate count of the vote. He also said that he would rule out any further legal action should the vote be accurately counted and called for a meeting with Governor Bush to resolve any animosity the protracted vote counting had generated.
