Officials, delegates and others paid tribute to Vietnam veterans and women serving in the House. They also expressed their support for Vice President Gore and Senator Lieberman saying they represented the only choice for progress. Two panels of citizens talked about health care and protecting America’s families. Later in the evening Senator Lieberman, the presumptive vice presidential nominee, spoke about his commitment to Democratic ideals, his support for Vice President Gore, and urged voters to make a choice for tolerance, inclusiveness and progress. Following his remarks the delegates cast their votes to nominate Vice President Gore as the presidential nominee.
