Commission members and criminal justice experts talked about civil rights dimensions of alleged police misconduct and recent investigations into relations between the police and the community in a number of cities. Among the issues they addressed were racial profiling, professionalism within police forces, methods of recruiting and training officers, and programs designed to increase dialog between law enforcement and community groups.
