Frances FitzGerald and Peter Kann, editors of the book Reporting Vietnam: American Journalism, talked about their experiences as reporters in the Vietnam War. Part one, 1959-69, covers combat-front writing, profiles, think pieces and other kinds of journalism. Part two, 1969-75, includes Senator John McCain’s (R-AZ) account of his six years as a prisoner of war, Hunter S. Thompson’s reporting from the 1972 Democratic convention, and other journalism of the era. close
