Adam Hochschild, C0-Founder, Mother Jones Magazine, spoke about his book “King Leopold’s Ghost: A Story of Greed, Terror, and Heroism in Colonial Africa.” The book discussed the colonization of the Congo by Belgium and the abuses that the natives encountered from the colonists. He also spoke of his experiences in writing the book. Simon Winchester, an author, spoke on his book “The Professor and the Madman” which is about the compilations of the “Oxford English Dictionary” and one of the criminally insane contributors to the dictionary. He also spoke of his experiences in writing the book. After their prepared remarks questions were taken from the audience. close
