The Georgetown Law Center held a moot court to retry the case, Bradwell v. Illinois, which was argued on January 18, 1873. The case dealt with the denial of a law license to Myra Bradwell solely because of her gender. The arguments focused on the interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment. Justice Ginsburg argued for Bradwell, Mr. Dellinger argued for Illinois and Attorney General Reno served as Chief Justice. This Supreme Court overruled the Illinois Supreme Court decision, but the historical Supreme Court upheld the state decision by an 8 to 1 vote. The program also featured interviews with the attorneys before and after the moot court.
