Utilizing access to Mr. Bradlee's personal papers and interviews with numerous colleagues, the author examined the former executive editor's ascendancy from a press attachÃ© in Paris following World War II to his twenty-three years (1968-1991) of leadership at the [Post], where he oversaw the paper's release of the Pentagon Papers and reportage on the Watergate scandal. Jeff Himmelman responded to questions from members of the audeince at Politics &amp; Prose Bookstore in Washington, D.C.
