Ms. Gore, daughter of Al and Tipper Gore, talked about her upbringing as the daughter of a senator and vice president, including coping with secret service protection and her father's unsuccessful 2000 campaign for president. She said she drew on her experiences in Washington to write her novels. She also talked about her job as a comedy writer.
