      <title>Life Portrait of Herbert Hoover</title>
      <description>In the thirtieth in a series on American presidents, Historians and scholars talked about the life and career of Herbert Hoover. Among the topics they discussed were Hoover's devotion to his Quaker religion, his career as a mining industrialist, his public service in World War I, and his administration's response to the Great Depression. During the program various parts of the Hoover National Historic Site were shown, as well as several documents and photographs relating to Hoover. Hoover's granddaughter and a teacher from Hoover Middle School were interviewed by telephone and guests responded to viewer comments and questions.</description>
