Witnesses testified on the legislative priorities of veterans' service organizations.
Senator Lugar introduced James Koutz, the new national commander of the American Legion, who presented the report of a survey done by the American Legion on veteran issues, such as the poor quality of medical care for women veterans, long processing times for veterans' claims, and getting veterans back to work. Verna Jones and Peter Gaytan also responded to questions. Also present, but not speaking, were Ben Governor and Mike Helms.
