      <description>Kate Michelman talked about her book [With Liberty and Justice for All: A Life Spent Protecting the Right to Choose], published by Hudson Street Press. In her book, Ms. Michelman wrote that 80 percent of Americans believe in the right to choose and explored how pro-choice candidates have fared in elections at all levels. She talked about her experiences as the head of NARAL as well as her early struggles as a Catholic faced with a difficult choice regarding her own pregnancy.  Judge White testified that Senator Ashcroft had willfully distorted his record as a Missouri judge during Senate debate over his appointment to the federal judiciary, saying the senator's remarks were unwarranted and had damaged his reputation.
 
 In other panels, colleagues and acquaintances talked about Senator Ashcroft's record as Missouri governor and attorney general, his views on social issues such as abortion, and his integrity.</description>
