      <title>Book Discussion on [Guantanamo: An American History]</title>
      <description>Jonathan Hansen presented a history of America's presence at Guantanamo Bay. The author reported on the United States' early interest in the area and the central role it played in U.S. plans to control the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean. Mr. Hansen examined the creation of the U.S. naval base and prison at Guantanamo and its continued usage despite calls for its closure. Jonathan Hansen responded to questions from members of the audience at Belmont Public Library in Belmont, Massachusetts. The program was part of the Author Series of the Friends of the Belmont Public Library.</description>
