The event at BookExpo America 2009 was moderated by Tina Brown until she could be relieved by her husband, Harold Evans, due to voice problems.
 
 The "CEO Roundtable with Tina Brown" was held on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City.</description>

      <description>Mr. Evans talked about his book [They Made America: Two Centuries of Innovators from the Steam Engine to the Search Engine], published by Little, Brown. The book features 70 of America's prominent entrepreneurs and innovators. Mr. Evans explains the difference between innovators and inventors and asserts that inventions are useless without great innovation. A video clip was shown of the four-part PBS series that was developed in tandem with the book. After the discussion, he answered questions from the audience. This event was held at the Woman's National Democratic Club in Washington, DC. and co-hosted by the English-Speaking Union.</description>

      <title>In Depth at Strand Book Store</title>
      <description>BookTV toured the Strand Book Store and talked with authors Richard Brookhiser, Harold Evans, Amy Goodman, John Fund and publishers Peter Osnos and Adam Bellow. The Strand also held an author event with Art Spiegelman, author of [Maus] and [In the Shadow of No Towers]. The guests responded to questions from the audience in the store and telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail from viewers.
 
 
 
 In 1927 Benjamin Bass founded the Strand Book Store along New York's long-famous and now-extinct "Book Row."  Seventy-seven years later the store is still in the Bass family and is still a destination point for New Yorkers and visitors alike. It has grown to occupy four stories in its present location at 12th Street and Broadway, living up to the Strand slogan "18 miles of books."  The Strand is located at 828 Broadway.</description>

Topics included his early views on isolationism, his pardon of former President Richard Nixon, his views on civil rights, the Cold War, and his opinion of current U.S. foreign policy.
