Voting Technology

The authors talked about two research projects they conducted on six different voting and verification systems reported in their book, [Voting Technology: The Not-So-Simple Act of Casting a Ballot]. The book addresses questions about how Americans respond to the voting systems they use on Election Day including if new voting systems have improved citizen satisfaction and trust in the voting process and if citizens can cast their ballots without making the same errors that occurred in Florida in 2000. Paul Herrnson, the lead author, offered an overview of their findings and recommendations. His co-authors offered additional comments. Thomas Mann moderated the panel. After the presentation, the panelists responded to audience questions.
