General David Petraeus, commander of U.S. Central Command, was honored for military leadership. IBM chairman Samuel Palmisano was honored for business leadership. Thomas Hampson, baritone, was honored for artistic leadership and also sang. Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough were the mistress and master of ceremonies.</description>
