      <description>In the thirty-second in a series on American presidents, scholars discussed the life and career of Harry S. Truman. Among the issues addressed were his rise to office after the death of Franklin Roosevelt, his presidency at the end of World War II, his reelection and second term, and his presidency during the Korean War. Throughout the program several sites, personal papers, and archival video footage were shown. Additionally, an educator from Independence, Missouri was interviewed by telephone and guests responded to viewer comments and questions.</description>
