In the first segment, Mr. Torry talked about the morning headlines including the FAA decision to ground ValuJet's planes. In the newspaper roundtable, Rep. Foley and Rep. Furse talked about current issues including the concern of airline safety and current investigations in Washington. In the next segment, Mr. Shaw talked about conflicting interests and cynicism in the media and his book [The Pleasure Police]. Finally, Ms. Schantz talked by remote connection about the final reports by the Majority and Minority released this morning on the Whitewater investigation.</description>

      <description>Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment Mr. Toedtman discussed the release of human rights activist Harry Wu from a Chinese prison. In the newspaper roundtable, Ms. Lee and Mr. Lindberg talked about the morning headline stories. Mr. Rohde discussed evidence he found that Serbs massacred hundreds of Muslims in U.N. safe areas after the fall of Srebrenica and Zeppa. In a video, the owner conducted a tour of Political Americana in Union Station store which sells political buttons, posters and other memorabilia. In the final segment, C-SPAN producers Cole and Slen described the production of Washington Journal programs. Other producers and technicians were introduced and interviewed in their studios and remote locations.</description>
