Book Discussion on [Painting the Map Red]

Hugh Hewitt talked about his book [Painting the Map Red: The Fight to Create a Permanent Republican Majority], published by Regnery Publishing. Mr. Hewitt argues that Democrats could win back both the House and Senate during the 2006 midterm elections and suggests ways for Republicans to limit this possibility. He says that for Republicans to regain the momentum they have lost recently, they should concentrate on four things: winning the war, confirming their judicial nominees, cutting taxes, and controlling spending.

Mr. Hewitt was joined by Fred Barnes and Bob Beckel to discuss what role conservative principles might play in determining the outcome of the next elections. The panelists responded to questions from members of the audience.
