      <description>Hispanic academic and business leaders participated in a panel discussion about the status of Hispanic-Americans in higher education and the economy. Among the topics addressed were the significance of the growth of the Latino population,  demographics, what President Obama can do, and the current economic downturn. Following the discussion panelists responded to questions from the audience. Henry Cisneros moderated.
 
 "The Status of Hispanics in America: Challenges and Opportunities" was a plenary session of the fourth annual national conference of the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education in San Antonio, Texas.</description>
