      <description>Doug Wead talked about his book [All The Presidents' Children:  Triumph and Tragedy in the Lives of America's First Families], published by Atria Books, and about the parents of U.S. presidents in an interview by historian and author Harold Gullan.
 
 Doug Wead is a former special assistant to President George H.W. Bush, and the co-founder of Mercy Corps, a relief organization. He is the author of twenty-seven books including the [New York Times] bestseller, [All The Presidents' Children]. 
 
 Harold Gullan teaches the American Experience at West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania. His books include:  [The Upset That Wasn't:  Harry Truman and the Crucial Election of 1948], published by Ivan R. Dee, Inc; [Faith of Our Mothers:  The Stories of Presidential Mothers from Mary Washington to Barbara Bush], published by William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company; and [First Fathers:  The Men Who Inspired Our Presidents], published by John Wiley and Sons.</description>

      <title>Book Discussion on [All The Presidents' Children]</title>
      <description>Mr. Wead talked about his book [All The Presidents' Children:  Triumph and Tragedy in the Lives of America's First Families], published by Atria Books. Mr. Wead is a former special assistant to George H.W. Bush. During the 1988 election he worked under George W. Bush. After the Bush victory Mr. Wead wrote a report on the lives of presidential children for the eldest son of the new president-elect. His study concluded that there appeared to be a higher than average rate of divorce, alcoholism, and premature death among the lives of children who's fathers were U.S. Presidents. Mr. Wead discussed effect of his report on George W. Bush and told stories about the children of many presidents. After his presentation, Mr. Wead answered questions from members of the audience.</description>
