      <description>Various speakers supported the Bush Administration's policies in the Persian Gulf, including the resort to force in liberating Kuwait, in a rally on the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. In previous weeks, tens of thousands of anti-war protesters had assembled on the Mall in Washington to protest the commencement of hostilities. The Vietnam Veterans coalition and the Friends of the Armed Forces in the Persian Gulf sponsored the rally to display support for the war in a similar manner.</description>
