      <description>Bertha Lewis was interviewed by live remote from New York City about the activities of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). ACORN says it that it has registered 1.3 million new voters this year as a community organizing and housing advocacy group that supports low-income people. Over the previous week the McCain presidential campaign and the Republican National Committee have accused ACORN of voter fraud and pushing banks into making risky home loans. On Thursday, October 9, 2008,  Senator McCain called called for a federal investigation of ACORN and on Friday Senator McCain's campaign manager, Rick Davis, said that Senator Obama's ties to ACORN should be investigated. After the interview, the reporters discussed her responses with the host.</description>
