      <title>Newsmakers with Richard Trumka</title>
      <description>Richard Trumka, talked about immigration issues and the effect of low-and high-income workers from other countries on American workers. He said the AFL-CIO was concerned that these workers might be paid a new lower wage that could in turn lower the wages of American workers. He also reacted to President Obama's suggestion to raise the minimum wage to $9 an hour, which the AFL-CIO believes is still too low. He commented on President Obama's nomination of Thomas Perez for labor secretary.</description>

      <title>U.S. Economy and the Federal Budget</title>
      <description>In the opening panel of Bloomberg News' day-long forum on the U.S. economy, economists assessed the state of the U.S. economy and prospects for growth and recovery. Topics included the role of the Federal Reserve, tax policy, and the price of oil. All agreed that Congress must address the federal debt and budget deficit. 
In the second portion, panelists talked about the economy and U.S. federal debt and spending. House Budget Committee Ranking Member Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) in his remarks said he does not believe Congress will resolve any major looming budget issues before the presidential election. Other topics included tax revenue and Mitt Romney's economic proposals.</description>
