      <title>Book Discussion on [Scout, Atticus &amp; Boo]</title>
      <description>Mary McDonagh Murphy talked about the impact of Harper Lee's [To Kill a Mockingbird], published 50 years ago that month (July 1960). In her book, [Scout, Atticus &amp; Boo], Ms. Murphy included reflections on Lee's novel from Oprah Winfrey, Tom Brokaw, Anna Quindlen, Andrew Young, Scott Turow, and others. During this event, part of the American Library Association's annual meeting, Mary Murphy discussed her book with librarian and NPR commentator Nancy Pearl and showed clips of the interviews she did for her documentary and accompanying book.</description>

She was interviewed at the 2010 American Library Association Annual Conference, held June 24-29, 2010, at the Washington Convention Center.</description>

      <title>Women's National Book Association Award</title>
      <description>Nancy Pearl will receive the 2004 Women's National Book Association award for extraordinary contributions to the world of books and talk about her love of books and reading.
 
 The fiftieth recipient of the bi-annual WNBA award is an author, librarian, book reviewer, and radio talk show personality. The former director of youth services for Washington State's Center of the Book at the Seattle Public Library, she is the author of [Book Lust:  Recommended Reading for Every Mood, Moment, and Reason], published by Sasquatch Books and the forthcoming [More Book Lust]. She is the creator of "If All of Seattle Read the Same Book," a program that has been adopted by cities throughout the country. The award was presented at a reception at the Library of Congress co-sponsored by The Center for the Book.</description>
