Mr. Levy talked about his book, [War, Evil, and the End of History], published by Melville House Publishing. In the book, the author addresses a number of topics, including the responsibilities of journalists, the role of intellectuals, war in the third world, and his own life and experiences. He talked about 20th Century intellectuals, including Jean-Paul Sartre and Vaclav Havel, and his own intellectual path that led him away from his Maoist/Marxist roots. Other topics included Mr. Levy's experience in Bosnia in the early 1990s, his reporting for Le Monde, slain reporter Daniel Pearl, and the seriousness of anti-Americanism in France. Following prepared remarks, he responded to questions from members of the audience.
