      <title>Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear</title>
      <description>Comedy Central hosts Jon Stewart of the "Daily Show" and Stephen Colbert of the "Colbert Report" held a rally on the National Mall on the weekend before the 2010 midterm elections. The nonpartisan rally to "restore sanity and/or fear" was billed as a politically themed entertainment program and featured several satirical acts and sketches. At the end of the rally, Mr. Stewart gave more serious remarks criticizing partisan political and media culture that often drowns out respectful debate in the country.</description>

      <title>Immigrant Farm Workers</title>
      <description>Witnesses spoke about the American agricultural sector's reliance on foreign, and often undocumented, workers to pick fruit and vegetables on America's farms. Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert appeared in character to testify. Mr. Colbert was part of a United Farm Workers campaign calling on unemployed Americans to take jobs in the agriculture sector. As part of the program he spent a day laboring at a vegetable farm in New York in August 2010.</description>

      <title>Newseum Dedication Ceremony</title>
      <description>A dedication ceremony was held for the new Newseum facility in Washington, D.C.
 
 The ceremony in the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Theater included a performance by the U.S. Marine Band and the U.S. Marine Color Guard. A video narrated by Peter Pritchard was shown about the new building. A humorous video message from Stephen Colbert was shown. Representative Lewis presented a clip from a Newseum video about the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.</description>

      <title>Colbert News Conference</title>
      <description>Stephen Colbert was presented with the key to the city of Columbia, South Carolina by Mayor Robert Coble and named South Carolina's "Favorite Son."
 
 Colbert had previously announced his intention to run for the presidential nomination on both the Republican and Democratic ballots. On Thursday, the South Carolina Democratic party voted 13-3 to deny Colbert's petition to be on the ballot. He did not apply to be on the Republican ballot.</description>

      <description>Mr. Burns talked about his book and the PBS series [The War], which was a documentary on World War II. Ms. See talked about her personal history and her book [Peony in Love: A Novel] and the role of women in China. Mr. Hosseini talked about the lives of two Afghani women as they lived through political changes in Afghanistan. 
 
 The particpants were Ken Burns, author (with Geoffrey C. Ward) of [The War: An Intimate History, 1941 - 1945] (Alfred A. Knopf); Lisa See, author of [Peony in Love: A Novel] (Random House); and Khaled Hosseini, author of the novel [A Thousand Splendid Suns] (Riverhead Books). The moderator was Stephen Colbert, author of [I Am America and So Can You] (Warner Books/Hachette Book Group USA).</description>

      <title>2006 White House Correspondents' Dinner</title>
      <description>At the annual dinner, current White House Correspondents' Association president Mark Smith served as master of ceremonies. Ken Walsh presented youth scholarships and Ann Compton presented awards to colleagues for their work during the previous year. Incoming WHCA president Steve Scully presented C-SPAN video clips of presidential humor from President Kennedy through the current president. President Bush's humorous after-dinner presentation included an impersonator, Steve Bridges, who stood beside him and "interpreted" the president's remarks. Following the president, comedian Stephen Colbert made humorous remarks about various current events and the relationship between the press and the White House. He also presented a video of a mock press conference which ended in a chase scene featuring long-time White House correspondent Helen Thomas.</description>

      <description>Live coverage of guests arriving at the Washington Hilton Hotel for the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner was shown. Guests, including correspondents, entertainers, politicians, and others, were seen being interviewed by other media outlets about the annual event and their participation in the event. Several attendees were not identified as they were shown on camera. Cedric the Entertainer was interviewed.
 
 A previously recorded telephone interview with Al Franken was played. Previously recorded interviews were shown with Julie Whiston about the organization of the dinner and with Ana Marie Cox about the dinner and the post-dinner parties.</description>
