      <title>In Remembrance of Caspar Weinberger</title>
      <description>[Forbes Magazine] held a reception at the Fort Myer Officers' Club to remember the late Caspar Weinberger after his burial at Arlington National Cemetery.
 
 Caspar W. Weinberger died on March 28, 2006, at the age of 88. He was the nation's 15th, and longest serving, Secretary of Defense. He was the chairman of the Federal Trade Commission in January 1970 and served as the deputy and then director of the Office of Management and Budget, where he earned the nickname "Cap the Knife."  He also served as the Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare from 1973 to 1975. Former Secretary Weinberger had served as executive editor and chairman of [Forbes Magazine] since 1993.</description>

      <title>Salute to Senator Jesse Helms</title>
      <description>Family and friends, including members of Congress and prominent conservatives, came together to celebrate the publication of former Senator Jesse Helms' book [Here's Where I Stand: A Memoir], published by Random House. The Rev. Jerry Falwell, former Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham, syndicated columnist Robert Novak, and former Louisiana Rep. Bob Livingston were among those seen at the opening reception. A tribute video, which included members of the North Carolina Republican Party, was shown to begin the program. Participants spoke about Senator Helm's life and influence during his terms as a North Carolina Senator. Also shown were video presentations from President George W. Bush and James Dobson, neither of whom were in attendance.
Before the opening reception, Mr. Dodd was interviewed about the tribute to celebrate Senator Helms and the publication of his memoir.</description>

      <title>War on Terrorism and the Patriot Act</title>
      <description>After an introduction by Ambassador Kirkpatrick, Attorney General Ashcroft expressed sympathy for victims of the bombing today of the United Nations mission building in Baghdad in which many persons were killed or injured. He also talked about the September 11, 2001 attacks, saying that they altered the mission of the Justice Department to one of preventing terrorist attacks. 
 
 He talked about using the U.S.A. Patriot Act as a tool in terror prevention in the U.S. He talked about many of the cases prosecuted against alleged terrorists because of the Patriot Act.</description>

      <description>The panelists discussed whether or not to send U.S. troops to Kosovo as part of a NATO mission to break up a civil war in the former Yugoslavia. In the first panel, Ms. Kirkpatrick and former Senator Dole supported the Clinton administration in their plan to send the troops. Mr. Kissinger opposed sending U.S. troops since the situation in Kosovo could become similar to the Vietnam War for America. In the second panel, Ms. Cloyes and Mr. Zherka supported sending troops to Kosovo. They both referred to the war as genocide. Mr. Bandow spoke against sending troops to Kosovo. He stated that the war does not constitute genocide.</description>
