      <description>Speakers talked about anti-American protests and violence, as well as the security situation in Libya in the midst of the on-going protests. They also talked about democracy promotion and the future of U.S. foreign policy in Libya and the greater Middle East. They also focused on future security policy in the region and answered questions from the audience.
Ambassador Aujali Ali Suleiman paid tribute for former Ambassador Christopher Stevens who was killed in and incident on the first night of the attacks in Libya.</description>

      <description>Members of Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (A.N.S.W.E.R.) led a coalition rally in Lafayette Park. The participants opposed what they termed the U.S.-Israel war against the people of Lebanon and Palestine. They also said that Lebanon, Iraq and Palestine are without freedom and are illegally occupied.</description>

      <description>Religious leaders spoke to reporters about recent events surrounding the circulation of political cartoons in Europe depicting the Prophet Muhammad. The original publication in a Danish newspaper and subsequent republication by papers in other countries following initial public outcry had led to sectarian violence and protest against the West is several Islamic countries. Following their remarks they answered questions from reporters and the audience.</description>

      <title>Anti-War Rally</title>
      <description>Speakers outlined the cost of the conflict in Iraq in both human and economic terms. They also contrasted the price of war with the price of relief efforts for Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. 
 
 The Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (A.N.S.W.E.R.) Coalition and other groups sponsored a rally to "End the War in Iraq and Bring the Troops Home Now."  As part of the rally, many attendees marched past the White House to demonstrate against the conflict in Iraq. The crowd was estimated to be between 150,000 and 300,000 by organizers and local officials.</description>
