Book Discussion on [Bennis v. Michigan]

In 1988, John Bennis transported a prostitute a short distance on his way home from work. The county charged him with gross indecency and sued for forfeiture of his automobile. Mrs. Tina Bennis later sued the county for the amount of money she had invested in the automobile since she had no knowledge of her husband's illegal activities. She appealed the county and state decisions to the Supreme Court. Mrs. Bennis' attorney and others discussed the facts of and issues involved in this case, including due process and seizure issues. The Court will hear arguments in the case on 29 November.
