Portions previously posted online included Mitt Romney characterizing the "47 percent" of Americans not paying income taxes as backing President Obama. He said they saw themselves as "victims" who were "dependent upon government." 
Mitt Romney later reacted to criticisms of his remarks, saying the tapes had been edited and that he hoped "the person who has the video would put out the full material." [Mother Jones] replied that recording equipment had been shut down for about 2 minutes, but correctly represented the context of the remarks.</description>
