At the time Dr. Conley said she was tired of what she described as the Medical School's sexist environment.       <title>Speaking Truth to Power</title>
      <description>Ms. Hill, who was taking a sabbatical to talk about the issue of sexual harassment to groups around the country, was the keynote speaker at the sixth annual conference of the National Black Women's Health Project. The law professor, who testified in the Senate confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas on sexual harassment that allegedly occurred when Ms. Hill worked for Judge Thomas, addressed the conference on "Lessons Learned from Speaking Truth to Power."  The speech centered on the process through which sexual harassment issues may eventually be addressed by those in power. Prior to Ms. Hill's keynote speech, several speakers lauded the goals and accomplishments of the National Black Women's Health Project, and meeting attendees united to sing an anthem for their cause. Following the keynote address, several awards were given to black women of accomplishment.</description>

      <description>Members of the Congressional Black Caucus briefed reporters on the U.S. Army investigation into sexual misconduct between drill sergeants and enlisted women in Aberdeen, MD. They stated that recent statements by some of the female alleged victims that they were coerced into accusing African-American drill sergeants of raping them creates doubts about the objectivity of the investigation. They also announced that they sent letters to the House National Security Committee and the Senate Armed Services Committee to create a new body to continue the investigation.</description>
