      <title>Vilsack Announcement</title>
      <description>Governor Tom Vilsack announced his candidacy for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination. Following brief remarks by Iowa politicians and Party officials and some "warm-up" music by a local high school band, Governor Vilsack made his announcement and talked about his reasons for seeking the presidency. The official announcement was held at the Howe Center of Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and was attended by supporters, local politicians, and family members.</description>
