      <title>President Obama 2009 Inaugural Ceremony</title>
      <description>President Obama addressed the nation following his swearing-in during the presidential inauguration ceremony. In his address he spoke about the themes of sacrifice and renewal, calling on Americans to set aside differences and join in efforts to restore government and make America prosperous for all citizens.
The president was sworn-in by Chief Justice John Roberts. The ceremony also included the swearing-in of Vice President Biden by Associate Justice John Paul Stevens. The invocation was given by Rick Warren and the benediction by Joseph Lowery. Aretha Franklin sang "My Country 'Tis of Thee." Itzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, Gabriela Montreo, and Anthony McGill played music composed by John Williams for the occasion. Elizabeth Alexander recited a poem she wrote especially for the Obama inaugural.</description>

David Maraniss spoke with relatives of President Obama in Kenya and discovered the president's African ancestral history on the shores of Lake Victoria. He toured the houses where young Barry Obama lived in Indonesia and found the Kansas family homes and sites where his mother's family began. Exclusive video and pictures from Kenya, Indonesia, Kansas and Hawaii were shown. Book TV traveled to Kenya with David Maraniss in January 2010 to document his African research trip. Mr. Maraniss spent four years researching and writing the book, which would be released Tuesday, June 19, 2012. After the presentation, Mr. Maraniss responded to telephone calls and electronic communications, including video questions. A video clip of a November 23, 2004, talk by then Senator-Elect Obama was also shown.</description>

      <description>Bob Woodward talked about his new book, [The Price of Politics]. The book chronicles the inside story of President Obama and Congress' efforts to reach an agreement on raising the debt ceiling, tax policy, and budget cuts. He also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. Mr. Woodward said he concluded in the book that all participants shared blame for pushing the problem off until after the 2012 election, but also that, "The president is the one who has to work his will or find a way to do that. In this case he did not."

She recounted her decision to pursue journalism, citing Diane Sawyer, Charlie Rose, and Al Hunt as influences.
Ms. Goldman was born in Maryland and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in political science from Barnard College in New York City. She joined Bloomberg in 2003 and served in a variety of roles, including associate producer for Bloomberg Television's Washington-based programming. She was assigned to cover candidate Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) in 2007 and became Bloomberg's White House correspondent in 2009.</description>
