He examined both the Turkish and Armenian sides of the conflict and proposed that a number of the Armenian deaths were caused by illness and starvation during their relocation to the mountainous regions of Turkey. He explained the contrasting opinions of incidents during the conflict and compared the events of the Armenian massacre to those of the Holocaust.
