      <description>Former Chief Justice Burger's family recently donated his personal and professional papers and memorabilia from his life to the College of William and Mary, where Burger was once chancellor. Dean Marshall conducted a tour of the collection. President Sullivan talked about plans to house the Burger collection. Mr. Wigdore talked about his responsibility for getting Justices to donate their papers to the Library of Congress.</description>

      <title>Chief Justice Burger Retrospective</title>
      <description>Warren Burger served as Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1969 to 1986, during the terms of four presidents. He died in June 1995. In an overview of his life and career, a clip was shown of the former Chief Justice speaking at the 1990 dedication of the Burger Library of the Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, of which he was a graduate. Next, excerpts were read from a tribute written by former Justice Blackmun about his life-long friendship with Warren Burger. Following a 1993 speech, former Chief Justice Burger answered questions on some of the important issues which came before the Court during his tenure. In a 1986 interview, Chief Justice Burger talked about his philosophy of government.</description>

      <description>Funeral services were held for former U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren Burger at National Presbyterian Church. He was appointed by President Nixon and then served as chief justice for 17 years. President Clinton was visible in the congregation paying his last respects although he did not speak.</description>

Mr. Williamson, newspaper photographer of the year winner, and Mr. Berman talked about the National Press Photographers Association and about photojournalism. In the last segment, former Burger clerk Rosenblum discussed the major decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court under Chief Justice Warren Burger who died recently. During this interview scenes were shown of the procession carrying Justice Burger's casket into the U.S. Supreme Court past the current justices lined up on the steps. Justice Burger's body will lie in repose for a time.</description>
