      <title>[College: America's Gateway]</title>
      <description>Peter Ackerman's video, [College: America's Gateway], was one of the high school section third prize-winning videos in C-SPAN Classroom's StudentCam video documentary contest. He was an eleventh grader at Cony High School in Augusta, Maine.
The local cable provider was Time Warner Cable.
C-SPAN Classroom's StudentCam video documentary contest was an annual national competition in which middle and high school students produced a documentary on a specific theme.*In the 2013 contest participants were asked to send a message to the president on the issue they consider most important in 2013.</description>

      <title>Student Loan Debt and College Costs</title>
      <description>Telephone lines were open for comments on student loan debt and college costs from viewers who had just seen a November 12, 2012, program from ProPublica and the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. Video clips from that program were shown, and clips of Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) speaking on the Senate floor, Bill Gates at a Washington Ideas Forum, and Rohit Chopra at a Senate committee hearing. 
Marian Wang, by Skype, and Josh Mitchell, by telephone, talked about the federal government's role in guaranteeing and setting rates for college student loan rates. Topics included the impact of education debt on the economy, the effects of college education on employment, and for-profit colleges versus non-profit colleges.</description>

The plan allows college graduates to cap student loan repayments at 10 percent of their income, forgives remaining debt on federal loans after 20 years instead of the current 25, and provides some borrowers with more than one federal student loan the option to consolidate.
Sam Goldfarb spoke by phone about the House vote later in the day on two tax-related measures. The first bill would repeal a 3 percent tax on government contracts, enacted in 2005 to combat tax evasion. The second bill, intended to pay for the repeal, would change eligibility requirements for Medicaid that allowed some higher-income early retirees to qualify for Medicaid and health exchanges</description>
