FBI Oversight and Fiscal Year 2014 Budget

FBI Director Robert Mueller testified at an oversight hearing of his agency and its fiscal year 2014 budget request. He said the FBI was looking at the failure to follow up on information that one of the Boston Marathon bombers had travelled to Russia and back in 2012, and that the lack of follow-up was likely due to the fact that the initial inquiry into Tamerlan Tsarnaev had been closed. He said the FBI has an excellent working relationship with Boston authorities. He also talked about the potential impact of sequestration, saying agents can expect to be furloughed with cuts totaling $700 million in fiscal year 2014.
