      <title>Quayle Campaign Speech</title>
<description>Vice President Quayle addressed the convention of the Federalist Society in Washington, DC. Fresh off a string of public appearances in which the vice president attracted media attention through his allegations that a "cultural elite" exists that opposes the voicing of "family values" in American society, Vice President Quayle called for legal restraints on the scope of government, and an end to divided government. In the highly partisan speech, the vice president criticized the Democratic candidate, Bill Clinton, and independent candidate Ross Perot, the latter whom he labelled a false solution to America's problems. He accused Ross Perot of maintaining a "contempt" for the Constitution and named him a "temperamental tycoon."</description>
