      <description>Richard Cohen talked about his cover story for this week's [National Journal] on whether the "new Center" is likely to be voted out in November and whether the right or left would be most likely to replace them in the current political atmosphere. The freshman Congressional class of 2006 included enough Democrats to return control of the House to the party, but a [National Journal] annual study of voting patterns reveals a largely moderate streak to the newest Democratic representatives.       <description>As part of an Inside Washington Academic Seminar on "Politics and the Media," Mr. Cook talked about the new political landscape and the 110th Congress. He described predictive polling results in the year before the midterm elections. He talked in detail about the reasons for the midterm election results in which Democrats achieved control of both houses of Congress. He also talked about Democratic legislative goals.
