 Mr. Edley, who was appointed by Congress to the commission and was an
 adviser to President Clinton's  race initiative, agreed with the findings of
 the report which found wide-spread voter disenfranchisement. Ms.
 Thernstrom, a Republican appointed to the commission in January, 2001, voted against the finding of the report. She said that mistakes were made, but
 there was no evidence of systematic disenfranchisement. Both responded to viewer comments and questions.</description>
