 Eliot Spitzer took the oath of office as governor and gave his inaugural address. The ceremony was outside the state capitol building in Albany, New York, on Monday, January 1, 2007. 
 
 On Monday, January 1, 2007, Governor Jennifer Granholm took the oath of office again on the east steps of the state Capitol. She delivered an inaugural address at the Lansing Center.</description>

 Rep. Murtha, a former Marine and decorated Vietnam veteran, has criticized the Bush administration's conduct of the war in Iraq and has called for a redeployment of U.S. troops outside of that country. Wulsin's opponent Rep. Schmidt was booed off the House floor by Democrats last November after she said in reference to Rep. Murtha's stance on Iraq that, "Cowards cut and run, Marines never do."  She later apologized for her remarks.</description>

Then, John Lithgow introduced Liza Minnelli, who sang "New York, New York."
